How Can You Join?

To join we need a completed application and the $30 membership dues for the year. Please contact us for more information and a copy of the application.

Who Can Join?

Regular Members

* Sworn law enforcement officers with arrest power who is employed by a government entity.

* Retired law enforcement officers.

Associate Members

* Civilians employed by law enforcement agencies or agencies that provide direct support services to law enforcement officers. (Dispatchers, communication officers, detention aids, evidence control staff, medical and forensic examiner employees, law enforcement paraprofessionals, and fraud investigators.

* Friends and families of law enforcement officers.

* Responsible and respected business and professional men and women.

* Any citizen willing to devote a portion of their time and efforts toward assisting law enforcement.

Benefits of Joining

* Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance - Active and Associate members in good standing who have joined prior to age 63 and whose names are on file with the State Lodge are eligible to receive a ($10,000) benefit until the age of 70. The benefit is reduced to ($5,000) after age 70. Coverage is On or Off the job.

* Survivors Aid Death Benefit - ($1,000) to beneficiary of an active/retired law enforcement member only until the age of 63, after the age of 63 ($250).

* The FOP Legal Defense Plan -The Fraternal Order of Police-Legal Plan, Inc. was created by the National FOP to administer the FOP Legal Defense Plan. This program is designed specifically to cover the law enforcement exposures faced by members of the FOP. The Legal Plan pays legal defense costs on behalf of participating members for the following actions and proceedings:
A. Administrative 
B. Civil 
C. Criminal
 
*MOONLIGHTING" LIABILITY PROGRAM
Who Needs this Coverage? Any peace officer that performs law enforcement activities for non-governmental entities, subject to approval from your governmental employer.

Why? This program protects the individual officer for liability and extends coverage to the non-governmental entity that has contracted the officer's services. By offering protection to the extra duty employer you have a distinct marketing advantage over other programs, which may not extend coverage to the employer.

What does it Cover?  Up to $100,000 in liability including legal defense costs for claims arising from bodily injury, property damage or personal injury while working any authorized off duty job..
